Planted area  : 2 hectares

Locality : Savigny en Véron

Situation : Confluence of the Loire and Vienne rivers  

Orientation : South

Altitude : 33 metres

Climate :  Exceptional  weather since April promises a very good millésime. We are near the memorable years of 2003 and 2005.

Soil :  Rich silty sands

Grape variety : 100 % cabernet franc (locally called «cabernet breton »)  grafted on a 3309 and 101/14 stock.

Average age of vines : 40 years, density 5000 plants/hectare

Yield : 42 Hectolitres/hectare

Alcoolic degree : 12°8 without chaptalization

Harvesting :  Mechanical, done on the 26th of September.

Vinification :  100 % destemming without pressing.Vinification  in vats thermostatically controlled by internal heat exchangers at 25 – 27 °C.  9 day fermentation. Malolactic fermentation done immediately after draining and completed by the 15th of November

Maturing : Lightly filtered at the end of January, matured traditionnally in barrels for 4 ½ months (1/2 hogshead of 600 litres).

Aging potential : 5 to 8 years depending on conservation conditions.

 


Tasting

Very fruity wines with a radiant violet coloured robe. A pleasantly perfumed nose, delicate tannins promising a good length in the mouth.
